ABOUT US

The Maritime College of Forest Technology is more than a college. It becomes a way of life.

The College has always seen its role as one of preparing students to work in the forest industry, not just with education…but also teaching responsibility and leadership.

This approach has resulted in the college being recognized by the forest industry as producing high quality, dependable graduates who can be counted on to get the job done.

Responsibility and leadership are taught by example as well as through intensive teamwork, meeting deadlines, mandatory class attendance and working under industry regulations and requirements.

Many of our graduates are hired by the forest industry starting out in supervisory roles. Graduates are sought by employers throughout North America.

In 2003 we changed our intensive one-year (12 month) program to a two-year program (September to April semesters) plus a summer work practicum. This change allows students more time for study, completing field exercises as well as a more balanced personal and social life.

Small classes (only 50 students are enrolled each year), taught by experienced instructors provide you with a hands-on education that gives you what you need for a job in forestry.

Our campus has access to a 1500 ha on-site woodlot, allowing outdoor classes and field assignments to be held all year round.

Located in a modern, up-to-date campus, the college is just minutes from downtown Fredericton, the Capital of New Brunswick.

To get a great education in forestry, you need look no further than the Maritime College of Forest Technology. It is recognized by the forest industry as one of the leading forestry educational programs.

Our Graduates Say it Best!

Some institutes only teach you tools to be able to perform a certain trade. Maritime College of Forest Technology teaches and develops
you to become a respected and valued asset to a company.

Jason Casey, Silviculture/GIS Manager, Elmsdale Lumber Company Ltd.

Immediately after graduation from Maritime College of Forest Technology I moved to Alberta and was hired as a Forest Officer. The person who hired me was a previous Maritime College of Forest Technology graduate. I got the job of my dreams and became part of a fraternity that reaches across the
country. It is something that makes me very proud!

Kali Hennessey, Forest Officer I, Waterways Area, Northeast Region
